Terms of Use
Last updated: March 27, 2026
Welcome to Composez. By using our service, you agree to these terms. We’ve kept them straightforward.
1. Your Account
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. If you suspect unauthorized access, please contact us immediately.
2. Your Content
You own everything you create. All novels, prose, summaries, characters, notes, and any other content you write or generate using Composez belong entirely to you. We claim no ownership or rights over your work.
You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content for the purpose of providing the Composez service to you.
Training and Improvement
How your content may be used to improve AI and writing tools depends on your plan:
- Paid plans (Basic, Pro): Your content may be used internally by Composez to improve our own AI features and product quality, but it is never shared with or sold to third parties for training or any other purpose.
- Free plan (Starter): Your content may be used by Composez to improve our AI features, and may be shared with partners or sold in anonymized form to help improve AI models and writing tools. This helps us keep the free tier available. If you prefer your content not be shared externally, you can upgrade to a paid plan at any time.
In all cases, your content is never made public and never attributed to you.
3. AI-Generated Content
When you use Composez’s AI features, the resulting output is yours. You are free to publish, sell, or use AI-assisted content however you wish. You are responsible for reviewing and editing AI-generated content before publication.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the service to produce or distribute child sexual abuse material (CSAM), or any content that sexualizes minors
- Use the service to produce or distribute content that promotes hatred, violence, or discrimination against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin
- Use the service to generate spam, phishing content, malware, or other deceptive material
- Use the service to generate content that violates applicable laws
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users’ accounts
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of our software
- Resell or redistribute access to the service without our permission
- Interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure
We take these prohibitions seriously. Violations may result in immediate account termination without notice.
5. Subscriptions and Payments
Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis. You can cancel at any time through the Manage Subscription page, and your access will continue until the end of your current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.
We may change our pricing with 30 days’ notice. Price changes do not affect your current billing period.
6. Service Availability
We strive to keep Composez available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, updates, or experience outages from time to time. We are not liable for any loss resulting from service downtime.
7. Termination
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upon termination, we will delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
8. Limitation of Liability
Composez is provided “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the service. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
